Un trattamento particolare already started some time in that general laboratory repressive that the current government has sought to implement in a deep authoritarian turn. We are building in Italy on the shape of the exceptional rule in the specific sense of the suspension order that sustains it, turning to the authoritarian practice of economic and social crisis. The risk is that the prevailing idea that the emergency exit by the suspension of rights, the limitation of protection, of the manifestations of dissent. It 's a picture of intimidation that accompanies the worsening economic and social crisis, just as those who manage the political crisis is to free itself from all judgments, complaint process.
The direct consequence of this device is that the economic crisis takes shape the democratic crisis. The criminalization of social struggles, political dell'agibilità of independent movements, the media gag imposed on the opposition, they mean much more and are suddenly even more disturbing when considered within the broader political and social context in which they ascribe. The narrowing of the spaces of freedom is affecting large sectors of society, from police charges on workers who are losing their jobs such as Alcoa and other situations that we could cite thousands of evictions and the eviction of homes took place in Rome and then limitation of space to dissenting students, local committees against the great works and speculation. And yet, the overcrowding of prisons, of which the vast majority of the population is still awaiting trial application of the security package and the laws establishing the notorious racist ICE, everything contributes to the climate sickening that this government does it to breathe.
February 10 was held a demonstration in front of the prefecture in conjunction with the table on the crisis called by the prefect of the presence municipality, province, region, representatives of government and social partners. The meeting was a step in the media during the election campaign for elections regional. It did not produce anything but embarrassing commercials on future jobs Alemanno promised to create in the coming year: over 600 000! Then shoot the media that specifically relate to the metropolitan area of Rome are really unacceptable when you consider the actual size of the crisis in the labor market. The unemployment rate that now exceeds 8, then 5% of about 500,000 people, inter alia, the understated numbers because of layoffs that still contain the catchment area of unemployment without which it would have already exceeded 10%. In fact, for social safety nets we speak of stratospheric numbers: a meta '2009, the ordinary wage supplementation in the Province of Rome the previous year increased by 110% and even the extraordinary wage supplementation of 750%. Not to mention the condition that these young moonlight, saw its unemployment rate grow up to 27%, young people who see no social safety nets! That 's the reality! As Roman
Network against the crisis, made by the Workers of Eutelia, ex-IBM MVS, Coordination of temporary schools, movements for the right to housing, the Committees for the guaranteed income, African workers expelled from Rosarno, we were there to hear our voice because the crisis is taking place on our skin. We were there because those struggles have recognized in recent months, climbing rooftops, looking visibility and social role, and this happened is because the government of this country is not giving any concrete answer in welfare policies and redistribution of wealth. Currently, Italy and Greece are the only two countries in Europe not to have any form of social protection and redistribution of income for the unemployed and precarious. Protection that should be made payable fielding resources by the Government and local authorities have a direct and indirect.
Our request to meet with the prefecture and the institutional representatives present to bring to the table of concrete proposals, and the police for the swift response of all participants have responded by loading the garrison. For a show authorized where the outrage was made visible with slogans and actions from the microphone, close the budget with more than 40 people injured, of which over 20 report in the hospital including a woman pregnant, with a stop over, it's definitely too much, clearly unacceptable !
The data that we are interested to emphasize is that the promise of the meeting in the prefecture has not been maintained, yet another symptom of the extreme end any confrontation with social movements, with the unemployed, precarious and cassintegrati who live in this city for the first social crisis.
In this climate it is necessary to speak out by all genuinely democratic forces to call for a meeting immediately with the prefecture and local institutional and national representatives on the crisis and responses that you want to put in place.
